TWO-WEEK SUMMER CAMP
LEARN, RELAX, ENJOY!
8:00-4:30 DAILY
Have fun while learning this summer! This is a fun and interactive full-day program that exposes the student to communication, social interactions and language arts. At the end of the program, parents are invited to view the students’ summer projects. All the student needs is a desire to learn and display cooperative behavior. These sessions are not designed to be an all-inclusive substitute for speech therapy. As such, students are encouraged to continue speech therapy while attending this six-week summer camp.
As we work with the students, we will note their strengths and weaknesses relative to their communication, social interaction, language arts and math performance in a Summer Activity Report.
*Some aspects of the schedule may be modified to accommodate any extended learning excursions. Students are expected to put into practice the manners and communication skills introduced during the camp sessions at all times. Afternoon Students’ Choice Blocks allow for independent work at various academic centers. Centers may address reading, mathematics and/or English skills through technology and/or hands-on activities.
Full Day Summer Camp Accepting Applications
The KIDS’ TOOLBOX FOR SUCCESS offers a full day summer program for students ranging in age from 9-17 years. We have put together a program that is less structured than the one or two week intensive sessions. Students will enjoy fun and interactive exercises in communication and academic enhancement that encourage learning, independence and creativity. The day begins with breakfast when students interact with each and decide which academic enhancement classes they will attend. While the schedule reflects a typical day, each day may be different depending on the students’ choices and when a field trip is scheduled. Field trips may be half-day or all day. Information regarding these excursions will be forthcoming as details are finalized. A notebook will be used to collect each day’s activities with take-home practice materials. Students will provide their own snacks and lunches each day. Snack and drink machines are available for the campers to purchase snacks. Cell phones may be brought to the camp and used for emergencies only. Otherwise, cell phones are expected to be off during camp activities. Parents may contact the Program Administrator for messages.
The Toolbox for Success offers training designed for the corporate sector as well as adults who want to meet personal goals regarding relationships, written expression, speech delivery, image and appearance.

Two-Week Sessions
The Communication Training program is a less structured
daily program which provides a sampling of the courses that are part of the
intensive programs and serves as an academic and/or social bridge to the
students’ daily educational experiences.
The programs are designed to
encourage learning through practical applications in an informal environment,
focusing on communication, social interaction, etiquette, language,
articulation and listening skills and to meet the needs of each
participant. Students will participate
in fun, educational and therapeutic activities that encourage communication and
socialization skills to build self-esteem and self-confidence. The less
structured programs will allow for daily scheduling input from the students;
but the day will be filled with communication and academic tasks that are fun,
practical and interactive.
Students will have opportunities to read, draw, paint,
write, work on their final project and/or play educational games, i.e.,
Monopoly, Scrabble and Speed Grammar in the afternoon. Planned excursions may interrupt scheduled
activities for a few hours.. Laptops/computers will be available for research
and skill reinforcement. Students will participate in communication exercises
that address vocabulary usage, conversation, speech sound production,
grammatical usage, journaling, and problem solving during the less structured program. Study skills, academic enrichment and crafts will be included in the schedule to round out the students’ program. Late afternoon activities may include
creative expression, excursions or extracurricular activities. Students will be grouped according to age to
increase maximum socialization and participation during engaging and
interactive activities. This will allow for greater exposure and opportunity to
practice the newly acquired skills in an unstructured setting or more relaxing
environment.
At all times, students will participate in engaging tasks
that impact learning and creative expression for maximum socialization as well.
A culminating program will occur at the end of each two week session for
invited parents and friends to view the students' accomplishments. A
typical day may proceed as follows:
Week-end
Communication Training ($850.00)
The month long communication training program offers two
days of advanced exposure in speaking, writing, and social activities over the
week-end. Once a month, parents and
guardians are invited to observe the communication routine, engage in
communication seminars in the morning and participate in afternoon activities
with their children. This program encourages a shared responsibility in
developing effective communication skills. A typical week-end schedule may proceed as
follows:
