Our unique programs specialize in communication skills, social interactions and academic enhancement. Our programs are based on the premise that speaking, listening and social skills are essential to successful educational, vocational and social outcomes for people of all ages through structure and practical opportunities that facilitate ease in communicating. The intensive programs, usually 90 minute sessions, focus on a specific area such as articulation, pragmatics or conflict resolution. Several intensive programs are conducted by appropriately trained and certificated instructors and/or speech pathologists.
In contrast, students may participate in daily activities that are less structured, but provide exposure to a sampling of the communication skills training that are part of the intensive programs. Students who wish to engage in the intensive programs for a half-day or full day camp may shift to the less structured tasks when the intensive course ends.
Because the less structured camp allows for daily scheduling input from the campers, program changes are possible. Regardless, the day will be filled with communication and academic tasks that are fun, practical and interactive. Campers will have opportunities to play educational games, read, draw, paint, write, and/or work on their final project. Also, laptops will be available for research and skill reinforcement. At all times, campers will participate in engaging tasks that impact communication, learning and creative expression.
